I may be drunk, but hope springs eternal in the desert

Edge to the Cards for four years.

It's my boy Patrick's wet dream come true.

I was praying the Vikes would land him.

In all my calculations, I never figured that CHESTER TAYLOR would be the guy the vkings chose.

But hey, that Priest Holmes was pretty good when he got out of Jamal Lewis's shadow, here's hoping Chester can be half the back that Priest is when healthy.

I'm really, really drunk right now, and have to go to bed SOON, but here are some snap analyses from the first weekend of free agency:

The Browns will be much better next year.

So will the Cardinals, even though they will finish second in the division (behind the seahawks) and Edge will have a noticable drop off in production.

The Vikings will win the NFC North, but won't make any noise in the playoffs, despite great play from their offensive line and a good season out of Taylor.

The 49ers will be very, very bad next year. #3 pick in the draft at worst.

The 'Skins will be bad.

Brad Johnson will start the entire season for the Vikings, and will not have another year as a starter.

Patrick Ramsey will win a starting job.

The Colts will be fine with whoever they have running the ball, and will probably have a bye in the first week of the playoffs.

Jamal Lewis will have another bad year next year, will be cut, and will find himself as a star with another team the next year.

The Bills will continue to disappoint.

The Titan's will also be bad.

Brandon Lloyd will never establish himself, will piss off Gibbs, find his way off the Skin's roster in the next couple of years and will probably be out of the league in 4 years.

If the Raiders land Dante, they will be dramatically improved, if not they will be awful.

The Saints will suck, but will improve by the end of the season.

No Vikings reciever will establish himself as a #1.

I think those are all the issues I have right now. I still hope the Vikings will bring in more big players before the end of free agency (Hutchinson will be clutch), but I don't think any more will come. I hope they draft well, and have a chance to run at the Super Bowl again in a couple of years.

Next year, I'm predicting: Eagles over the Colts in the Super Bowl, and at least one more Fantasy Football championship for one of my two teams.
