Cutlery

A knife can be a usedul tool.

A sharp knife can cut many things. The sharper your knife, the more things you can do with it. If you choose a dull knife, you limit your options.

Daunte Culpepper is a SHARP knife. He can do a lot of things. He gives you options. You can have him run around, throw it deep and just mess with defenses in general. You can do more, but there is more potential for disaster. With Daunte, there will ALWAYS be mistakes and turnovers. If you play it safe with Daunte, you do the defenses work FOR them. They don't have to worry about stopping Daunte, you're doing it for them.

Brad Johnson is a butter knife. I love him, he's a butter knife made of platinum and diamond, but he's still a butter knife.

Butter knives are useful. You can win games with butter knives. But you can NOT go out and tear it up with a butter knife, and if your defense falters, your in SERIOUS trouble.

There's something to be said about who holds the knife as well. Daunte, unfortunately, shows us that if Hellen Keller has a very sharp knife, you could stab you in the heart. If your going to give someone deaf and blind a knife, give them a Brad Johnson butter knife +2.

With Johnson, we had to scale back our offense. We couldn't attack anymore. It fits the Vikes because we don't have any other great players on offense (maybe we should make Napoleon Harris our 8th number 2 reciever). You can't be an attacking offense without good players. You can't be a GOOD offense without good players.

The Vikings D doesn't get NEARLY enough credit for putting us back into the play-off race.

Another poorly publicized fact: the teams the Vikings have beaten in their win streak area combined 16-36. Ouch. Beasting the Lions twice, the Pack, the Browns and the likes is not the same as beating good teams.

We beat the mighty G-Men, that was impressive, even though they played like a bunch of Bryans.

Big test today, here come the Steelers.

I don't think we have a CHANCE. But if we do, MAYBE we could win a game or two in the playoffs. The Bears have the Falcons, so even if the Steelers do beat us by 100, chances are good that the Bears won't pick up a game. We do get the Bears in the final week of the season, that will be a slugfest for the division.

Well, good luck Vikes, prove me wrong. Brad, throw for 400 and 5 touchdowns, and wrap up your MVP case. And GO my PRECIOUS Fantasy Football teams, BRING ME RINGS!
